Q: Introduction

A: The iTrax Downloader application allows for tremendous flexibility when you want to download multiple albums or tracks. All of your tracks are listed by the artist's name, the album that contains the track, the name of the track, the format (i.e. .WAV or FLAC etc), the mix type (5.1 stage or stereo), the size of the file, the status of the track. There are a few of buttons that you should understand in order to use this software (see additinal information below). There is also a button associated with each individual track that allows you to start or pause file downloads. You will be able to identify any newly purchased tracks and simply let them download into a folder that you designate in the preferences. The new iTrax Downloader is available for Windows and Mac operating systems (see below).

Using the iTrax Downloader

The iTrax Downloader consists of a header section with a group of 4 buttons on the right hand side. These buttons are: Access New Downloads, Open Downloads Folder, Preferences and FAQ/Help. The middle section contains a listing of all of the tracks that you have purchased and that will be downloaded. The labels at the top of the columns are: Artist, Album, Track, Mix, Format, Size, Status and Action. At the bottom of the iTrax Downloader is the footer section. It contains the name of the currently active user and button that allows you to change the user. There is also an indicator that shows whether you are connected to the internet or not. On the extreme right hand side are a couple of links to the AIX Records website and the Real HD-Audio blog site.



    Artist
    - contains the name of the artist of the track being downloaded.

    Album
    - contains the name of the album which contains the track. The download folder contains a separate folder for each album.

    Track
    - contains the name of the track being downloaded. Tracks from the same album are placed in a single "album" folder.

    Mix
    - identifies the mix type of the track. Some tracks are available in "stage" 5.1, "audience" 5.1 or 2.0 channel stereo.

    Format
    - identifies the format of the track wbeing downloaded. Tracks are available in a variety of formats including MP3, WMA, WAV, or FLAC.

    Size
    - identifies the size of the track being downloaded in bytes

    Status
    - shows a progress bar and percentage number that provides a visual indication of the progress of the track being downloaded.

    Action
    - provides users a choice to START, PAUSE or OPEN an individual track.

Installing the iTrax Downloader on a PC

If you're using a PC to download tracks from iTrax, you will need to install the appropriate iTrax Downloader application on your 32 or 64-bit Windows computer.
Step 1
Download the 64-bit Windows version at this link: iTrax Downloader for 64-bit Windows OS PCs

Download the 32-bit Windows version at this link: iTrax Downloader for 32-bit Windows OS PCs

Step 2
Double click on the installer to start the install process. The window shown below will appear.



Step 3
You need to tell the installer where to install the iTrax Downloader. You can accept the default location or BROWSE to another location on your computer.



Step 4
The installer will let you know that the iTrax directory/folder doesn't exist. This step will create one. Click "YES" to proceed.



Step 5
The installer will confirm the creation of the new "itrax" directory. Click on the "START" button to initiate the installation.



Step 6
The window displayed below will confirm that the iTrax Downloader application has been successfully installed on your computer.



Step 7
After the program has been successfully loaded onto your computer, the "Log In" screen will appear. Enter your email and password and then hit "SUBMIT".



Step 8
The iTrax Downloader is now running and the files in your account will begin to download.

Installing the iTrax Downloader on a MAC

If you're a MAC user, follow these steps to begin using the iTrax Downloader.
Step 1
Download the zipped application using this link: iTrax Downloader for MAC You will be asked whether you want to immediately unzip the file or simply "SAVE" the zipped file. We recommend that you unzip the file right away.



Step 2
The iTrax Downloader will be placed in your "DOWNLOADS" folder, unzipped and be available for use immediately. While it can remain in the "DOWNLOADS" folder, it would be advisable to drag the application icon to the "APPLICATIONS" folder on your computer. Once you've moved the application. Double click on the icon to start the application. The window shown below will appear. Click "OPEN" to allow the program to start running.



Step 3
You will then be presented with the "LOGIN". Enter the email associated with your iTrax account and password to enter the application.



Step 4
The iTrax Downloader is now running and the files in your account will automatically begin to download.



Accessing New Downloads

The RED button on the main iTrax Downloader window looks into your iTrax online account and determines if you have any tracks or albums that have not yet been downloaded. Click this button to update your download queue.

Accessing the Downloads Folder

Clicking on the BLUE "Open Downloads Folder" button opens up the folder that you designate as the repository for your downloads from iTrax.com. You can see your downloads being placed in the folder during the trasnfer process but you shouldn't try to open them until the downloads are completed.

The Preferences Section

The GREEN "Preferences" button opens up the PREFERENCES window.



The top field shows the folder on your machine that will hold your downloads. You can point to another folder by clicking on the BROWSE button and navigating to a different location. You can also select how many downloads you would like to handle at once AND whether to have the folder with the individual downloads open up after the individual download completes.

Changing Users

Click on the PURPLE "Change User" button in the footer to switch to another account or user.
